ALL IS SILENCE – Robert L Slater

As the world crumbles... Lizzie had it worse than most. Will she give up?

A bat virus brought the world to its knees. At 17, Lizzie is two years behind in school, a cutter, and angry. Surviving an apocalypse could push anyone to the unthinkable.

But Lizzie may be ready her shotgun's is loaded.

Then she finds Spike, a survivor with a dog collar, hungry, mute, scary. She drops a Snickers and runs.

She leaves more food for the next time she sees him.

Things go to Hell. A man dies. Did Lizzie mean to pull the trigger?

His brother shows up and embeds a hunting knife in her door. Lizzie opens it, he shoves his way in. Spike joins the fight and a box of her mother's stuff is crushed. A name and a phone number peak out from the wrapping paper. The number of a stranger she thought was dead.

Like a beacon. Could they still be alive? She has to find out.

You'll love this coming-of-age, post-apocaloptimistic road-trip adventure, because when we need it most, a single piece of hope could be all it takes.
