Biography: Mark D. Owen grew up in the Portland, Oregon, consuming science fiction. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and a Masters in Advanced Manufacturing Technology from the University of Limerick, Ireland, he had a full career as an engineer, educator, inventor, and entrepreneur. Mark was elected as a Pivotal Leader in the NW Cleantech community and inducted to the OSU Engineering Hall of Fame. Mark returned to his science fiction roots as an author. Impact is his first novel which was a semi-finalist in the CIBA Cygnus Awards for new science fiction. When he isn't traveling or hiking with his wife, Anne, he enjoys woodworking and writing in Beaverton, Oregon
