Blurb: In a world gone mad with bloodlust, can a girl with a fragmented past use her inner monster to save a boy from undying predators? Earth, post-Apocalypse. Prisma longs to understand herself. Two centuries after humanity died, the claustrophobic immortal is grateful she’s not driven by the thirst for blood plaguing every other enslaved survivor. As Prisma’s violently protective alter-ego gives her remarkable abilities, she and her curious companion track his mysterious origins through their decaying city and its virtual twin. But she’s horrified to learn of a vicious truth that sends her split personality into dangerous denial when a psychotic assassin and a desperate bounty hunter close in for the kill. Can she unearth the secret that will renew their stricken planet’s hope? A Spectre in the Stream is the edge-of-your-seat first book in The Slip Saga science fiction fantasy series. Bio: Simon Tull is a software sorcerer by day and a couch potato by night. By the cold light of morning, he transforms coffee grounds into fun stories. On the rare occasions he’s able to do something other than sling code or sweat words, he fancies himself as a yoga student, basketballer, runner, cook, and fussy cat companion. Like many science fiction and fantasy authors, Simon was inspired to write his own stories after vicariously experiencing the exploits of Rand al’Thor, Druss the Legend, Murderbot, and, of course, Arthur Dent. He lives on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, Australia with his wife and cats.

Accidental Intelligence by Bryan Chaffin

View on Amazon | Goodreads

Content Warnings: There’s a reference to cannibals, but no cannibalism.

Blurb: TALES FROM THE QUANTUM VAULT In his debut novel, Bryan Chaffin transports us to the year 2139, where corporate combines have their own Senate seats, the surveillance-state is all-encompassing, humans live most of their lives in the Omninet, and sentient AIs are partners with the world government. It’s not all bad, though. There are docbots, you never have to wait for a taxi, and if you can afford it, you can get your coffee made the old fashioned way, strained from the algae tanks. ACCIDENTAL INTELLIGENCE Private detective Mason Truman is being yanked around by invisible strings, and it’s an AI doing the yanking. Miranda. She’s subtle. Crazy. And she thinks she can see the future. It’s enough to drive Mason nuts. Miranda believes her fellow AIs are up to some kind of grand conspiracy against the Terran Republic, and she wants Mason’s help proving it. Conspiracies are above Mason’s pay grade, though, the kind of time-sink that can put a crimp in more serious pursuits. Like drinking coffee. And staying alive. But Miranda won’t take no for an answer. Mason can help or Miranda will make sure he becomes intimately acquainted with the finer conversational techniques of the secret police. So Mason digs until he uncovers a cache of stolen communications between a cabal of rogue AIs. They’re planning what they call Eschaton—the divinely ordained end of humanity. Unless Mason and Miranda stop the arrogant pricks, the conspirators will destroy Earth. Mason and Miranda have one chance, a way of bottling up the rogue AIs. All Mason has to do is lure the conspirators to the right spot in a sim world. That’s how Mason learns that when Miranda said she needed help, what she meant was bait.

Bio: I grew up in a small town outside of San Antonio, Texas. Shortly after high school, I joined the Marine Corps where I traveled to Foreign Lands. Throughout my Marine Corps career, I studied military radar technology and decided to leave the Marine Corps after a memorable eight years to work within the civilian Radar Technical Community at Saab Defense Inc. in Syracuse, NY. During the following eight years, I met my beautiful and intelligent wife, Shirley. Eventually, we moved away from the snow after I accepted a position as a Government civilian for the US Navy specifying in emerging naval radar technology. Currently, I reside with my wife and two handsome boys in Virginia Beach, Virginia. My author journey began in 2018 when I finally decided to move forward with an idea I’ve had in my brain since I was a teenager. I’d have strange dreams of alternate lives that I lived. Either in a different city or different friend group or a different career path. I always wondered if that could be a possibility and several years of research lead me to many multiverse theories. This novel is the culmination of the end of that thought process.

Bio: I write because I have stories inside me that need to get out. I know I have more stories than I’ll ever have time to read, even if we could find a way to get rid of that pesky need for sleep. More than that, reading has always helped me see the world and the people in it from new perspectives. It’s helped make me a more thoughtful, open-minded person, and I hope that my writing will do the same for others. In my spare time, I build LEGO, make my own suits of armor, compose music, and dive deep into the rabitholes of history. The Man Who Sold the World by Iain Benson

Content Warnings: None

Blurb: James London is having a weird week. One minute, he’s dodging London traffic like a caffeinated squirrel, and the next, he’s knee-deep in Istanbul’s rubble, where a rogue chemistry experiment has gone disastrously right, turning the city into a tourist-free zone. Not that this is a first for him—saving the world is just another bullet point on his CV. Enter D&D aficionado, Zee, a teenager (maybe) with a knack for shortcuts and a dad who thinks Ambrosia is more than just custard. Together, they’re on a mission to stop a Turkish mobster in a gold lamé tracksuit from turning copper into gold and the global economy into a grim joke. Oh, and there’s the small matter of immortality on the line, because why not? Meanwhile, Detective Louise Sargant wants to solve a straightforward case of a shattered mirror on the Southbank. Instead, she’s stuck dealing with colleagues who think her last name is the punchline to every joke, and she suspects beloved chef Nigella Lawson might be in danger. Packed with more twists than a politician’s promises and enough irreverent humour to make you snort your coffee, “The Man Who Sold the World” is James London’s third outing and a wild ride through secret shortcuts, interdimensional mayhem, and one detective’s quest to avoid going completely bonkers. Perfect for fans of madcap adventures, this novel will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about alchemy, ancient myths, and the Turkish mafia.

Bio: I’m a 50+ software developer from Manchester who fell back into writing when the alternatives for a midlife crisis seemed to expensive (should have gone with a motorbike). After a near fatal brush with trad pub I went indie in 2012, writing 19 novels and counting. I refuse to be constrained by genre, calling myself a thriller-ish writer, mixing sci-fi, humour, LGBTQ themes, mystery, paranormal and psychology into thriller books, rarely qualifying them as thrillers. My body swap romcom (thriller) briefly entered the top 3 romcoms during a freebie promotion and I have a printout of the top 10 page framed on the bathroom wall. When not writing I can be found doing adult things required of me by capitalism.

Malcolm has worked for eight years as a freelance ghostwriter, while Martin has a background in filmmaking and visual effects. Martin loves walking his cat – it’s a thing, okay – reading sci-fi and he dreams of one day visiting Mars. When he can do it in a long weekend. Malcolm is a total fantasy nerd with a leaning toward horror, who identifies a little too strongly with zombies. They met far too many years ago while working in a cinema together.

Blurb: In the sprawling, decrepit world-city of Cascartia, you’re only as strong as the people you surround yourself with. When Niall Torson passed through the enclave of Lorellan looking to freelance, he found an oasis of calm, a safe haven from the scavengers and enterprising murderers of the outside world. All thanks to Lorellan’s enigmatic leader – the White Lady. While her bold reign keeps the enclave safe, the Lady is erratic, her judgements swift and brutal. When she pushes her last aide off a cliff for wasting resources, a replacement is the next order of business – and Niall finds his diligent efforts rewarded with an unexpected, very much unwanted promotion. Refusing the dictator is usually a good way to wind up at the bottom of the cliff yourself, though, so Niall sets himself to the impossible task of keeping his mistress happy while plotting his escape. With his peek behind the curtain comes the realization there’s more to the White Lady than he ever knew – and that the world threatens Lorellan more than its citizens suspect. But is the cure worse than the poison?

A ‘wasted’ childhood spent reading and playing far too many mind-rotting video games became the source of a passion for hard magic systems, and growing up with Ann McCaffrey and Halo novels sparked a love of space opera and offbeat scifi that remains to this day.

Strange creatures from other worlds rip through to ours. Your team has the means to set things right, and you get to work. But in the encounter, you inadvertently supply the soldiers with information their commanding officer has been seeking. Now he has everything he needs to launch his end game. Titanic Voyage by Julie Bihn

View on Amazon | Goodreads

Content Warnings: Harm to an animal, Harm to a child, Suicide/self harm, I would not personally give it a content warning for any except suicide/self-harm, but it is the Titanic, so there are multiple references to a historical dog that drowned, and children died that night, too. No subtantial portrayal of either, but I know just the idea can be upsetting, and the idea comes up. There is also an instance of someone being given CPR by a medic and one other person–I’d technically consider that to be a non-consensual medical procedure, but they would have consented if they were able, so I didn’t think that was what you meant.

Blurb: A theme park worker can travel back in time to walk the decks of the Titanic. But can he save one of her heroes from a watery grave? Ever since he graduated from high school, Liam Peterson has worked at the Titanic Voyage ride in Historytown, a struggling amusement park in Eloy, Arizona. He’s enchanted by the journal of Clara Jones, a hero of the Titanic who saved several fellow Third Class passengers before she perished in the sinking. He never dreamed he’d meet her. One night, the teenage son of Historytown’s founder tricks Liam into thinking that a 3D projection of Clara is a theme park guest. As Liam spends time with Clara’s “holoactor” on the sets of Titanic Voyage, the past starts to change, and he realizes he’s been visiting the real Clara Jones. When tragedy strikes Liam’s life outside the ride, his only escape from the grief is the hope of saving Clara and giving her a long, happy life. But if he rewrites her history, he might erase his own.

Her most recent novel is Titanic Voyage, which combines her fascination with time travel, theme parks, history, love (romantic and not), and, of course, the Titanic. Her humorous short story “Turtle Day, or Kate Malone and the Magic Calzone” is featured in The Accidental Time Travelers’ Collective Volume 1.

Notes: I marked that Titanic Voyage is a standalone, and that’s how I wrote it/what it is right now. It concludes with the resolution of the main story. But it also leaves significant room for a sequel, which I am working on now. I’d be SHOCKED if I published it before 2026, though, so for right now it’s a standalone, not the start of a series. It’s aimed at adults but I’d say suitable for ages 13+. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

Blurb: Star Trek meets Leverage in a space opera that’s “refreshingly hopeful and heaps of fun” (author Megan E. O’Keefe). Jasper Wilder is an activist, not a spy, but he’ll become one if that’s what it takes to stop Ravel Corporation from reviving the research project that devastated his home planet. But all that goes out the airlock when he meets Havoc, a passionate but politically naive labor organizer trying to reform Ravel from within. Havoc could help Jasper, but instead, he’s fighting for a lost cause. Jasper knows that if he sticks with his own plan, Havoc will likely take the blame—and Ravel doesn’t treat activists kindly.
