Gabriel's Watch – Noah Fregger

Ten years have passed since the sky went war-torn, since humanity fizzled itself to all but extinction. Survivors can still be found, from docile to savage and everything in between, but it’s one named Miles who’ll be taking us on this dystopian, sci-if adventure.
He lives beneath a junkyard, well-hidden beyond the outskirts of the city. There, amongst the apocalyptic debris, he’s left mostly alone — just him, and his gifted friend, Alice.
Together they focus on survival, tinkering the time away with various projects and gadgetry, until an inner-city gang known as The Government comes to pay them a most unfriendly visit. For fear of losing the serenity they’d carved so carefully from utter chaos, Alice completes construction of the ZEKE, a weapon designed by the genius of old. But safety isn’t the only thing worth protecting within their cavern walls. A devastating secret also lay hidden, one that, if uncovered, would forever alter the fate of humanity.
From aliens to tarot card readings, Gabriel's Watch is chock full of modern mythology, weaving its way through multiple genres, making it a truly deep and unique science fiction experience. It also excels in the twists and turns so many desire, along with the tossing of common tropes. In this page-turning roller coaster, the reader is left guessing to the very end.

Biography: Noah Fregger, born the year RETURN OF THE JEDI hit theatres, has always been an immense fan of science fiction. He spent much of his early years immersed in various books and movies, most of which involving space travel and heroic battles between good and evil. He's a lover of all things nerdy, a sculptor and an author. Noah currently lives in Upstate New York with his muse/wife, Kelly, and gremlin/daughter, Lila – he may or may not have a cat named Ripley, and a screen-accurate GHOSTBUSTERS proton pack ... just in case Gozer the Gozerian comes back.
